Well, Walt Disney World, you did it. You found a way to get me into an American BBQ restaurant at the World Showcase when I am surrounded by various delightful international cuisines and snacks. All it took was the patriotic bird call of a Sam the Eagle sipper. Capitalism at its finest. Sam himself couldn’t have done it better.

I knew we had plans to do some hikes in the area, and I wanted to see what else the park had to offer, as I had never been to LA before. When flipping through the book, I was delighted to be reminded of the connection between Walt Disney and the park in question—the merry-go-round that inspired the entirety of Disneyland was located at the park! Upon further reading, I found out that in addition to this landmark, the park is also home to Walt Disney’s Carolwood Barn, which only happens to be open the third Sunday of every month. By fate (or maybe a little pixie dust) the day we had planned to spend time in the park just happened to be the 3rd Sunday in March. Let the magic begin!
