Ma chère Mademoiselle, it is with deepest pride
And greatest pleasure that we welcome you tonight
And now we invite you to relax
Let us pull up a chair as the dining room proudly presents
Your dinner (review)

Whenever Megan and I visit the Magic Kingdom for just one day (something we do with alarming regularity for people who live in the Midwest) we always make eating lunch at Be Our Guest a priority. Although eating hot soup in 90 degree Florida weather might not sound completely appetizing, we always make an exception for the French Onion soup. Because of this, when I planned to bring my boyfriend (now fiance) to the most magical place on earth, I knew I wanted to share one of my favorite dining experiences with him.

That being said, dining at Be Our Guest in early June 2021 was a much different experience that I was used to. I managed to snag a last minute dinner reservation for us, which we opted to do over lunch due to the nature of the new Be Our Guest menu. However I had some trepidation over the reservation, as I had seen some mixed reviews of the new menu online.

Upon arriving at the restaurant we were thrilled to be seated in the ballroom. Beauty and the Beast is my favorite movie, so I was thrilled to share this experience with John. We opted to each get something different, so we could maximize the food we tried. We had an incredible waitress, who helped to steer us in the right direction as well (for example, she helped steer us away from the lobster bisque).

For our appetizers, we got the assorted meats and artisanal cheese selection along with the mixed field greens. Both were well-portioned for the beginning of the meal (especially after a day of snacking in the parks). For our main entrees I got the pan-seared sea scallops and John got the center-cut filet mignon. Both were delicious. Our meal ended with the desert trio, the highlight of course being the grey stuff (had you heard? It’s delicious!).

Overall, I was pleased with our prix fixe experience at Be Our Guest. Although it was definitely more expensive than a normal meal we would have at the park, for us it was worth it since that was our big meal splurge of the trip. Ultimately, eating inside the Beast’s castle is an experience that we found unforgettable, and can’t wait to repeat upon future visits!
