With a Smile and a Song--Disney Words of Wisdom for Teaching in a Pandemic

This year has been challenging for many professions, and teaching is no different. Last March the way I taught my classroom was disrupted, and then disrupted again when we did finally return back to school in August. My school was completely remote for the beginning of the year, but we have since transitioned to a hybrid model of instruction. This means that I only see half of my students in person on any given day, while the other half are on my zoom screen. I am expected to teach both groups concurrently and keep everyone on pace with their learning. It is, in a word, exhausting.

Ratatouille: The TikTok Musical Watch Party

We are back after a little holiday hiatus! We certainly hope you had a merry time however you were able to celebrate this year. Our new year is already starting off with something very exciting because on January 1st, “Ratatouille: The TikTok Musical” comes to life. What is this, you ask? Check out the full story here, but the rat-sized version is that a Ratatouille super fans started creating songs for a hypothetical musical on TikTok, and now, it is a full-fledged production with some of Broadway’s biggest stars for one night streaming only!

Is there a thing as too many holiday films? I could honestly watch them all day. Are they formulaic and sometimes rely on outdated stereotypes? Yes. Do I love them anyway? Also yes. Giving Thanks: Disney Parks Edition

This year, as Thanksgiving approaches, we are all feeling thankful for things we used to take for granted, including a healthy family, toilet paper on the shelves at the grocery store, and the never-ending catalog of films and tv shows on streaming services. Along that same vein we wanted to point out a few things we are grateful for at Walt Disney World that in the past we have taken for granted. Now, with no idea of when we’ll return, we find ourselves nostalgic for even the most insignificant-seeming element of the parks.
