Allison’s Top Five Disney Love Songs
5. “Once Upon A Dream”: I would be lying if I didn’t use to reenact this scene in my backyard growing up, hoping that a handsome prince would stumble upon me and somehow know the intricacies of waltzing. While this never happened, the magic and fantasy of this romantic scene makes it one of my favorite Disney moments.
4. “I See the Light”: I don’t know if it’s Mandy Moore’s voice or the floating lanterns but this recent entry into the Disney love song canon instantly became one of my favorites.
3. “A Whole New World”: This is the second entry on my list that I used to reenact as a child, this time with my mom on a beach towel.
2. “Something There”: Two words: THE LIBRARY. Okay, I know technically this happens BEFORE the song begins, but it happens during this song in the Broadway show so it counts. THE LIBRARY.
1. “I Won’t Say I’m in Love”: Hercules never gets the love it deserves as far as I’m concerned, and Meg definitely doesn’t. Meg’s adamant denial that she has feelings for Hercules is charming, delightful, and altogether unconvincing. She DEFINITELY in love.

5. “That’s How You Know”: Is there anything more dreamy than a bemused Patrick Dempsey frolicking after Amy Adams in Central Park?
4. “Once Upon A Dream”: The soaring melody of this classic song instantly transports me and makes me want to waltz through a forest. Taylor isn’t as into the idea as I am…
3. “Can I Have This Dance”: There was a time when I said I would have danced to this at my wedding. While I didn’t end up doing this, Gabriella and Troy’s rooftop moment is a favorite of mine from the series.
2. “A Whole New World”: Do I tear up during this song in Mickey’s Philharmagic? ONLY EVERY TIME.
1. “I See the Light”: Let’s be real, who didn’t want to immediately recreate the lantern scene with someone with smolder like Flynn Rider?
