Review: Roundup Rodeo BBQ

Howdy, partners! Today we’re recapping our experience at the new Toy Story Land sit-down bbq restaurant. So buckle up, maybe loosen your belt, and watch out for Andy!

Upon checking in at the restaurant, it’s important to note that there is little to no shade while waiting for your “toy set” to be called for your table. We found ourselves ROASTING on the domino-benches in the waiting area, so just be prepared if you are early to your table during the hot months of the year.

Once you enter the rodeo and are seated, the hardest choice you have to make is what beverage to enjoy! Allison tried the Grown Up’s Peanut Butter & Jelly, which consisted of frozen Skrewball peanut butter whiskey, Minute Maid Vanilla Smoothie Mix, and Grape Jelly. While it was delicious, it was a heavy drink choice considering what was to follow.

We won’t bore you by listing out what we got…because when you dine at the Roundup Rodeo BBQ you get to try everything! You can view the menu here, but highlights for us consisted of the Prospector’s Homemade Cheddar Biscuits with Sweet Pepper Jelly, Wheezy’s Watermelon Salad, Slinky Doooooooooooooooooooooooooog’s Mac & Cheese, and Buttercup’s Beef Brisket. Megan was also given her own special gluten free biscuits and was able to eat almost everything on the menu…with the exception of the mac and cheese and fried pickles.

The two of us were not entirely prepared for the amount of food that was presented to us, and honestly we left a lot of food on the table. It’s important to note that you can continue to order as much of everything as you want…it’s served completely family style!

In addition to the food, the atmosphere of the Roundup Rodeo BBQ is truly delightful. We don’t want to spoil any surprises, however there are some super fun interactive elements to the dining experience. However our favorite part might have come at the end of the meal, when we were magically transported down to the size of a toy and forced to sign our receipt for the meal with a VERY unique pencil (see below).

Overall we think Roundup Rodeo BBQ is a great addition to Disney’s Hollywood Studios…even if we still wish Pizza Planet were a part of Toy Story Land. Will you try to visit the Roundup Rodeo BBQ next time you are at Disney’s Hollywood Studios? Let us know!
