Review: Lunch at Cinderella's Royal Table
We’ll be honest. When people ask us if dining at Cinderella’s Royal Table was worth it, in the past we would say…it depends. Do you have princess-obsessed children in your party? Then it’s a resounding yes. If you’re looking for a culinary experience? Maybe look elsewhere.
However on our most recent visit we decided to give our gal Cindy another chance. Was this mostly related to the new-ish wine flights that appeared on the menu? We can neither confirm nor deny this fact. (Just kidding; of course it was!)
Although we were a teensy bit late to our reservation (shout out to the TRON virtual queue) we were still able to be seated after being greeted by none other than Cinderella herself. We made our way up the winding staircase to the restaurant, only slightly out of breath by the time we finally made it to the dining room.
Lunch is a prix fixe menu, served with your choice of starter, entree and dessert. We opted to try different items so that we could experience as much of the menu as possible. It also comes with a non-alcoholic drink, and if you choose to partake in one of the many flights that are available, you will have that added on to your bill.
For our starters I ordered the Castle Salad and Megan chose the Chilled Jumbo Shrimp. Both were surprisingly fresh and flavorful.
For entrees I ordered the Slow Braised Chicken pasta, with Megan opting for the Grilled Tenderloin of Beef. One thing we did notice is that in terms of allergy options, this restaurant did not offer as many as other places on property, leaving Megan with fairly limited options.
For dessert we ordered “The Clock Strikes Twelve,” a dark chocolate mousse as well as the “Jaq and Gus,” a cheesecake with seasonal flavors.
However, as previously stated, our original purpose for booking this lunch was to try one of the wine flights. Now, recently before our trip, Megan found out that she was pregnant, so as a sacrifice in the name of research I tried two different flights. I know. I am an AMAZING friend. Both were good, however The Castle Flight was probably my favorite!
Overall, we are so glad we put on our best Disney princess bounds and treated ourselves to a fancy castle meal. It still wouldn’t reach our Top 10 meals on property, however we are so glad we gave Cinderella’s Royal Table another chance!
