Resort Review: Walt Disney's Beach Club Resort
In October of last year I booked a spur of the moment trip to the Walt Disney World resort with my husband for my October break from work. We would only be staying for two nights, and because of the short nature of our trip, along with our dedication to visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios and EPCOT, we elected to stay at the Beach Club Resort. We also elected to stay on the Club Level for no other reason than it was available and I had heard AMAZING things about the Club Level at the Beach Club. Let me tell you, it did NOT disappoint.
Upon arriving at the hotel we were escorted up to our floor and immediately greeted with the signature cocktail, “The Captain Sparkler.” While waiting for our room to get ready we enjoyed the afternoon snacks before changing into our swimsuits and taking a club level cocktail to go down to the pool. We grabbed lunch at Hurricane Hanna’s Waterside Bar and Grill, enjoying a perfectly acceptable cheeseburger and fries along with some delightful frozen drinks.
This was the first true “resort” day I’ve had in several trips, and the Beach Club pool and facilities were the ideal location for a non-park day. After a few hours of sunshine (for me, not for John) we took it upon ourselves to treat ourselves to some snacks and drinks at the Martha’s Vineyard Lounge, where we enjoyed an artisan cheese plate alongside the signature fall cocktail. We loved the relaxed coastal vibes of this lounge!
In addition to the restaurants on property, by staying Club Level we were treated to an ever-rotating smorgasbord of food and snacks throughout the day. We went back to the resort several times on this trip, and really took advantage of the snacks in between park-hopping. One of my favorite aspects of the Beach Club was the ability to easily park hop between Hollywood Studios and Epcot from the resort. We loved having the option to walk, take the skyliner, or a boat to each of those parks (though we always walked to Epcot). In fact, our proximity to Epcot worked in our favor after our app glitched while trying to get a Deluxe Resort guest boarding group for extra magic hours at Epcot. Because the entrance was so close to our resort, we were able to walk over to speak with guest services, where a fairy godmother snagged us a boarding group! This ended up being John’s favorite ride of the entire trip, so much so that after riding it at 10 p.m. we were right back on the ride at 10 a.m. the next day!
Although I have a goal of staying at every resort on property (nine more to go) it's going to be hard to resist staying at The Beach Club again. I’m not sure if it was the proximity to water and a “beach” or simply the never-ending parade of snacks that made this resort stay extra magical and honestly more relaxing than my typical Disney vacation. Although the rooms weren’t anything extremely themed or special, they were clean, comfortable, and filled with delightful towel shapes. And did I mention the proximity to snacks?
