Review: Brunch at Be Our Guest Restaurant
Living in the midwest, we don’t always get to take advantage of the new offerings at Walt Disney World as soon as they come out. This was why we were so excited to see new brunch dishes available at one of our favorite restaurants on property, Be Our Guest, appear days before we headed down to Florida! We were able to snag a last minute reservation for 10:15 am in order to fully take advantage of the two new offerings.
Unlike the previous itineration of Be Our Guest, which offered a specific breakfast menu different from lunch and dinner, the two new options have been added onto the current Prix Fixe menu that is being offered at Be Our Guest. Each meal includes an appetizer, entree, and dessert trio. The first new entree is an omelet stuffed with gruyere cheese topped with lump crab meat served with roasted potatoes and asparagus. The second new entree is Mickey Waffles with a side of eggs (also Mickey shaped), potatoes, and bacon. Technically the Mickey waffle dish is on the kids menu, however you can get an adult portion for your meal. Just know that the price is still $62 regardless of what you order.
We began our meal with a round of mimosas, which while not on the menu, are available to order. We also had two members of our party who are gluten free, which Be Our Guest was able to handle with ease. Three of us ordered the seasonal salad as our appetizer, while two of us ordered the classic french onion soup (one of which was made gluten free). For the entree portion of the meal two of us ordered the omelet (one of which was gluten free) two of us ordered the Mickey waffles (one of which was gluten free), and one of us ordered the filet!
All of us enjoyed both parts of our meal. One thing to note is that while Be Our Guest did offer a gluten free waffle, it was not Mickey-shaped, which you can find at other restaurants on property. We also enjoyed a visit from the Beast, a feature that used to only be available at dinner. Additionally we would like to shout out our server, Clint, who made our experience super special. He was kind, considerate, and helpful with all of our allergen needs!
To finish our three course meal, we each got a dessert trio that was also easily made gluten free. The dessert trio consisted of a macaron, “the grey stuff,” and a dark chocolate truffle.
Overall, we did feel our meal experience was worth the prix fixe price, which we know might not be worth it for everyone. However we loved being able to brunch inside the Beast’s castle, and we truly enjoyed all of our food (and our mimosas). While it might not be the best brunch on property, we definitely felt like it was an excellent breakfast option within the parks, especially for those who have an allergy. We also feel that you cannot beat the atmosphere of dining inside such an iconic movie moment. We definitely suggest this as a great option to get a filling meal for your park day, especially if you are a rope drop to Enchantment kind of crew!
