Happy 3rd Anniversary to The Pixie Dust Pals

Three years ago, we made a decision to celebrate our love for Disney on a regular basis. Both of us missed writing regularly, and needed something that would bring joy into our lives. Thus, the Pixie Dust Pals was born! To celebrate our three year anniversary, we are highlighting some of our favorite moments of the past three years.

Nailed It: Disney Cake Challenge

During Quarantine, Megan had the brilliant idea to tackle a Disney treat Nailed It style. If you aren’t familiar with the Netflix show, amateur bakers attempt to make a confection originally created by a professional baker. We gave ourselves 90 minutes to recreate the petit cakes from Amarettos at Disney Springs. While neither of our creations turned out exactly like the originals, it was a super fun way to stay connected via Zoom during an otherwise challenging time.

Jackson’s Nursery

One of our most popular blog and Instagram posts was the celebration of baby Jackson’s nursery! Megan and Taylor did fabulous job of recreating the magic of It’s A Small World in Jackson’s bedroom. It’s been so wonderful to watch him continue to grow and flourish in the space.

Christmas Trip Spectacular

Little did we know in December of 2019 that it would be the last time either of us would be at Walt Disney World for over year (and in Megan’s case over TWO). This trip was magical for several reasons, not the least of which was enjoying beignets upon beignets at Port Orleans. Another highlight of the trip was dressing up like our other favorite gal pals, Minnie and Daisy, for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.

Visiting Marceline, Missouri

All through college, the two of us dreamed of visiting Walt Disney’s hometown, which at the time was only about an hour away from where we went to school. However we didn’t actually end up visiting until many years later, when it was of course much further away from where we lived. We had such a fabulous time seeing the REAL Main Street USA and visiting the Walt Disney Hometown Museum. If you are a Disney fan, this is a must do.

The First Annual Pixie Dust Pals Retreat

This summer the two of us decided to take a few days to set aside some time to focus on some items we wanted to accomplish for the blog but never quite found time during our everyday life. We had several Disney-themed meals, ran a runDisney 5K, and found almost every cute photo wall in Madison. We began the Pixie Dust Pals in order to stay connected through our long distance friendship, and three years later it remains a source of joy in our lives. Here’s to the next!
