Recipe: POG Juice Smoothie
While there may be a foot of snow outside my window right now, in my mind, I’m basking in the warm sunshine at the Polynesian Resort. If you’ve ever been to the Polynesian (or Hawaii IRL), you’ve likely sipped on the famed POG juice, a combination of passionfruit, orange and guava juices. I love POG juice so much I once cried actual tears of joy sipping a POG-mosa in the Club Lounge at the Polynesian. Please see below for evidence. So to bring the spirit of Aloha home and help you start off the day with a smile, we’ve whipped up a POG Juice Smoothie recipe that is sure to make you feel like you’re in a tropical oasis.
Ingredients
1/2 cup frozen passionfruit (You can find Pitaya brand at Target or Whole Foods)
1/2 cup frozen oranges (You can freeze an individual cup of mandarin oranges in juice or peeled orange slices from 1 orange)
1/2 cup guava juice (I used the Ceres brand and found at my local supermarket)
1/2 cup coconut milk
1 scoop collagen peptides (optional)
1 tsp flaxseed (optional)
Add ingredients to blender and blend until smooth. For maximum Aloha, serve in your favorite tiki glass. Cheers!
