It's A Small World [Nursery] After All
Years ago, I came across this nursery on Pinterest and though I was nowhere near having children at that point, I knew I loved that theme for a someday baby’s room. Now the time has come with Baby Noble on his way any day now, and the Small World nursery I envisioned has come to life. I’m excited to share the details with you!
As luck would have it, Pottery Barn Kids + Disney released an It’s A Small World collaboration perfectly timed with my pregnancy so I used their color scheme as the palette for the room. I knew that I wanted a wall decorated with with the Small World motif, but having painted said motif on a shirt last year for Dapper Day, I also did not want to have to paint it ourselves. I scoured the internet for Small World wallpaper and even emailed Pottery Barn customer service to ask if they had an idea where I could find something like that. Luckily, I found Dana Decals on Etsy, and she worked with me on a custom decal after sharing my vision. She was amazing to work with and sent me many drafts throughout the process. It is easily my favorite feature of the room!
Other details include this amazing rug from the Ruggable x Disney collection. The best part about these rugs is that they are machine washable – excellent for spit ups and other sorts of baby accidents. The crib sheet and blanket are both from the Pottery Barn Kids collection!
The gallery wall above the changing table holds a few favorite treasures:
Original Mickey and Pluto drawing by my talented husband – he did that free handed, which amazes me!
It’s A Small World mobile from Pottery Barn Kids
Welcome to the World fingerprint print from Megan H Studio on Etsy
Small World face clock from Happy Prop Shop on Etsy
Canvas print of one of my favorite photos I’ve taken at Disney World, two Small World prints we received as gifts and a custom print I made of Baby Noble’s name, which we are keeping a secret until he arrives!
We loved the Adventure Book from Sydney’s Thoughtful Spot on Etsy we used for our pregnancy announcement and hope to track many adventures throughout our son’s life in it, and when I saw this nod to the It’s A Small World goats, I knew this was the hamper for us.
Finally, we added a few Disney details to our shelving!
The blocks came from Pottery Barn Kids – it is a full set with an adorable storage bag, but I thought having our last name spelled out would be fun!
I ordered this suitcase and painted it for our little world traveler featuring good-bye flower from the ride
If you don’t know, we love Up and Toy Story in this house, so both needed to be featured in the nursery. I used this jar from Amazon and Mod Podged the Paradise Falls sign on.
These book ends come from our massively talented friends at Archd, who create incredible wooden art and prints. They do custom work as well!
My sister-in-law got us the print on the wall when she was in Walt Disney World this past fall
Safe to say, we will be raising this child to love Disney, and I can’t wait to share all of the magic with him as a family someday!
