The 2019 Food and Wine Festival: Our Top 5 Tips and Tricks!
IT’S ALMOST HERE! The 2019 Food and Wine Festival at EPCOT kicks off tomorrow! If you’ve never been to this glorious celebration we have a few suggestions to get the most out of your festival experience.
It’s a marathon, not a sprint.
There are over 40 special booths featuring food and drink from all around the world including locations not typically featured at EPCOT such as Australia, Belgium, India, and countless others. Maximize your ability to try everything by getting plates to share with your friends. That way you won’t fill up before getting to try everything.
Get a Festival Passport.
A great way to keep track of what you’ve eaten/had to drink as well as plan out how to spend your time at the festival is to get a complimentary Festival Passport! These booklets list every option available at the festival and lets you track your progress with unique stickers. We might be biased considering we know the person who makes them, but we think they make the festival extra special.
Worried about overspending? Buy a gift card!
The Food and Wine festival, similar to Flower and Garden, features an easy to use wristlet gift card that makes purchasing simple and basically hands free while you’re trying to juggle three macarons and a Kir Royale (Just us? Neat). This will also help you keep to whatever budget you planned for, even after you’ve had one too many avocado margaritas (Just us? Again? Neat).
Plan Ahead and Prioritize
If you only have one day (or just one afternoon) to spend at Food and Wine make sure you look ahead at all of the menus and pick what you absolutely must try. The Disney Food Blog has a great breakdown of all of the offerings available this year. Some of our favorites from years past making a return this year include:
Twinings Pumpkin Spice Chai Tea Frozen Cocktail with Caramel Vodka from the Chocolate Studio
Liquid Nitrco Chocolate-Almond Truffle with Warm Whiskey-Caramel from the Chocolate Studio
Pão de Queijo: Brazilian Cheese Bread from Brazil
Any Kir beverage from France—this year it’s a Kir à la Grenade, which is a sparkling wine with Monin Pomegranate Syrup
Don’t forget about the exclusive merchandise!
Every EPCOT festival has special merchandise and this year’s Food and Wine is no different! The 2019 merchandise features both Chef Mickey and Chef Minnie and highlights rose gold, pink, and purple colors. See some of the collection HERE
