Review: Woody's Lunch Box--Breakfast
Howdy, Howdy, Howdy! It’s no secret that Hollywood Studios has long needed some added quick service options. The addition of Toy Story Land brought us a great new option! We’re breaking down our experience eating breakfast at Woody’s Lunch Box.
What strikes you immediately upon entering Woody’s Lunchbox is the spectacular theming. Just like the rest of the land you are shrunk to the size of a toy, surrounded by K’nex, toy soldiers, and babybel cheese. (Side note: Anyone else get major Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground vibes from the Toy Story Land theming? Just me? Moving on). Woody’s Lunch Box serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. While we haven’t had the chance to try the lunch and dinner options yet, here’s our take on the breakfast offerings.
We tried three of the four breakfast entree options as well as one of the breakfast tarts.
Breakfast Bowl: The official description of this dish is “hearty,” and that is no exaggeration. This dish could definitely be shared between two people, though we would suggest also splitting a tart just to be safe. The bowl makes for a great start to the day; heavy on protein and taste.
Smoked Turkey Breakfast Sandwich: GLUTEN FREE ALERT! You can ask for all sandwiches at Woody’s Lunch Box on gluten free bread! This was a game-changer for Megan, who loves breakfast sandwiches but doesn’t get along so well with gluten. This sandwich, while tasty, does border a bit on the dry side.
S’more French Toast Sandwich: Just like the above sandwich this comes on gluten free bread if you ask for it (be prepared to wait approximately 5-10 minutes longer for your meal if you go this route). This sandwich is extremely sweet, but very delicious. We ordered the smoked turkey and the french toast and each had one half of each sandwich. This made for the perfect combination and wasn’t overwhelmingly sweet!
The strawberry tart: This tart isn’t always offered; currently there is a lemon-blueberry option. However the tarts are not to be missed. The crust is flakey and there is a perfect ratio of bread to filling. Again, we would suggest sharing as one tart is probably too much for one person.
Iced coffee: This isn’t technically food, but as someone who is typically not impressed with Disney coffee I found this iced coffee surprisingly tolerable. Coffee is crucial when you are starting your day before the park even technically opens (which is what we did in order to walk right onto Slinky Dog Dash) so it’s nice to have a drinkable option on hand.
Breakfast can be difficult to navigate in the parks, especially if you don’t want a basic Starbucks option that you could get anywhere. However Woody’s Lunch Box offers a great variety and is very gluten-free friendly. The meals are often large enough to share with another, which also makes it a great value.
