This is Halloween

Spooky season is upon us, which means it’s time to start thinking about your Halloween costume! We would wager that most of our 30 Halloweens have been spent dressing up as Disney characters so we wanted to share a few of our favorites from over the years with you!

It’s clear to see that we were destined to be friends. You simply can’t go wrong with the classics at any age, and we still love to dress up inspired by Minnie and Daisy! You could do this with an intricate, hand-sewn costume (bless my mother) or you could pair a purple top with a white skirt for Daisy or a red polka dot dress for Minnie.

Princesses are a go-to option, and both of us have dressed up as our favorites more than we could count! Fun fact: Allison met her little sister wearing that Blue Dress Belle costume. It was a Walt Disney World exclusive purchase, and young Allison would wear only the finest.

Here you have some of our favorite looks from Halloween as “grown ups” – my take on Tink, Allison’s practically-perfect-in-every-way rendition of Mary Poppins, and one of my very favorite costumes I’ve made: Babette, the feather duster from Beauty and the Beast. I will tell you that fingers were injured in the sewing of that feather skirt.

We dressed as Cindy’s evil stepsisters for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party last year, and it was such an easy costume! We found the skirts on Amazon and the shirts at Target. We each fashioned our headwear and voila – Anastasia and Drizella!
