Five Reasons you should stay in a Royal Guest Room at Disney's Port Orleans Resort--Riverside

There are so many incredible hotels at which to stay when visiting Walt Disney World Resort. It’s no secret it’s our goal to try them all, and on a recent visit we got to cross off not only Port Orleans Resort—Riverside, but a specialty room as well! Here are five reasons you should check out the Royal Guest Rooms at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort—Riverside

  1. The Immaculate Theming

Upon entering our guest room we could not contain our shrieks of delight as we took in all the details. Everywhere we looked—the carpet, the faucet, the shower curtain—was perfectly princess themed. In a world where more and more Disney resorts are becoming LESS Disney focused, this room immediately immersed us the magic we had traveled for.

2. The Proximity to Port Orleans—French Quarter

Listen…we are who we are. And who we are are two gals who love beignet blessings. We loved walking over to Port Orleans before heading to the parks to enjoy one of our favorite Mickey-shaped treats!

3. The Peaceful Atmosphere

Can we talk about how beautiful the grounds of Riverside are? Our room was located about 5-6 minutes from the main entrance, however also had the added benefit of being right by one of the resorts several bus stops. Even with our extremely tired feet at the end of the night, the peaceful walk over the river was a highlight of our day.

4. A Piano Bar Megan Could Tolerate

One thing about Megan is…she does not like a piano bar. However as we waited for our uber to go to the airport we found ourselves drawn to the River Roost lounge at Riverside. To our delight, we found ourselves in the presence of Yehaa Bob Jackson, the most delightful piano man we had ever encountered. He had the entire crowd on their feet dancing and singing to all of our favorite Disney songs. I even saw Megan tapping her toes!

5. The Greatest Kiddie Pool Ever

To be fair…this kiddie pool is just a kiddie pool. But it was empty and PERFECT for us to sit by and soak our poor little feet who just can’t hang anymore now that we’ve entered our 30s. Siting by this pool was truly the perfect way to end our whirlwind three days of fun!
