Muggle to Mrs. – Throwing the Perfect Harry Potter Bridal Shower
When a bride-to-be loves Harry Potter so much she has the Deathly Hallows tattooed on her arm, it is your duty to throw that bride a magical Harry Potter-themed bridal shower. So when my team at work was planning to throw a surprise bridal shower for our co-worker Ashley, it was an easy decision to cast a few spells. With a little magic (and Amazon and Etsy), it was as easy as the wave of a wand to put together a fun HP shower for our bride!
Like most good things, I started with a Pinterest board. Bless the internet for its many magical ideas. Because food is one of the most important things to me in life, we worked next on crafting a menu with recipes easier than any you’d find in Snape’s potions class.
Butterbeer is an obvious must for beverages.
This Polyjuice Potion recipe is easy, and there is no danger you’d turn into a cat.
I ordered these fun cups for our fancy beverages.
Pretzel sticks make easy wands.
Buying candy in red, yellow, green and blue is a fun way to make your own House Cup.
The Snitch is easy to catch with these printable wings and Ferrero Rocher.
Cute toppers take bakery cupcakes to the next level, and this cake topper is wedding-worthy.
My favorite show stopper was this Sorting Hat Cheese Ball from Sustaining the Powers.
A bridal shower also needs a bit of decor, and I was impressed with what I could find on Amazon and Etsy! The Muggle to Mrs. sash from Create with Hailey Jordan on Etsy came as quickly as if I’d summoned it, and it was the perfect touch to make our bride feel special. If you know me, you also know that I hold a firm belief in photo booths, and we made a simple Platform 9 3/4 replica with this brick backdrop, printable sign and props. Throw in some magical shower games, and poof! You’re ready to surprise your bride!
